Volunteer Editor
We are looking for a number of people to help in the NCBI Library. The Library strives to provide people who are blind and vision impaired with a full and comprehensive talking book, Braille and large print library service.
Role Title:
Editor - to correct and prepare books before they are translated into Braille.
Location:
NCBI Library Services at Unit 29, Finglas Business Centre, Jamestown Rd, Dublin 11 or Marina Commercial Park, Cork.
Key Responsibilities:
To read and correct the text of scanned books. Once the errors are corrected the scanned books will be translated into Braille.
Time Commitment:
Approx 3 – 8 hours per week. This work must be carried out in NCBI library Services premises.
Personal attributes and skills required:
- Leaving Certificate English (or equivalent)
- Basic keyboard and word processing skills.
- Knowledge of Braille is NOT necessary
Support Provided:
Initial and ongoing support from the library staff.
