Braille books
Summary: Members have access to 3,500 braille titles from our library and 100,000 braille titles from libraries around the world.
As with our audio books, we specialise in the production of Irish interest titles in braille.
A special feature of the Braille library is children's books, which have been specially adapted to include a Braille version of the text. These "twin-vision" books are suitable for children from about 4 to 8 years of age.
Borrowing a braille book
To borrow a book, please call us so that we can send you an order form in the post. You can then list the books you would like to read on the order for. When we receive your completed form, all your selections will be stored on our computerised system.
We will then send you two of your chosen books in the post, which you can return by simply reversing the address label on the package and putting it back in the post, free of charge. Once we’ve received your books, we will send you two more from your list. If you find that two books are not enough, we can send more each time.
