80th Anniversary Ball

NCBI’s 80th Anniversary Ball will take place on Friday 22nd October in Dublin’s new Convention Centre, a spectacular venue for memorable occasions. We invite you to take a table at the ball with friends or family and guarantee you a very special occasion, with proceeds from the evening going to develop NCBI’s essential services.

The theme of the evening is 1930s glamour, in honour of the decade in which NCBI was founded and will feature good food and great music. A special early bird rate of €1,500 applies to tables of 10 booked before August 31st.

After September 1st a table for 10 people will cost €2,000 so please book early.
For more information please contact Denise or Tara in NCBI’s Fundraising office on 01 8307033.

Women’s Mini Marathon

This year’s Flora Women’s Mini Marathon was the most successful yet. Congratulations to the 100 ladies who donned their runners on 6th June and completed the 10k road race on behalf of NCBI. A big well done also to Hilary Casey from NCBI, who won the vision impaired category in a very fast time of 53.18 minutes.

Blind Football Tournament

Ireland’s second annual Blind Football Tournament took place on 18th June on the outdoor futsal courts in UCD. As well as raising almost €6,000 for NCBI, this tournament helped to encourage people with sight loss to participate in blind football, a sport that is still very much in its infancy in Ireland. A big thank you to David Nason, a trainee at NCBI’s Rehabilitation Training Centre, and his family for their enormous support in making this event possible.

Donation from The Publicity Club of Ireland

In May The Publicity Club of Ireland presented NCBI with a cheque for €2,000 at a special reception in the Davenport Hotel in Dublin. Established in 1923, The Publicity Club of Ireland acted as an industry body for advertisers, agencies and publishers but closed this year having struggled to attract new members. NCBI would like to express our sincere gratitude to all 30 committee members of The Publicity Club of Ireland including its Chairman Tom Connolly and Honorary Secretary Frank McGouran for their very generous donation.
