Visionline aims to promote the sharing of information among families who have a child who is blind or who has impaired vision. It has been developed following discussion with families who use NCBI services around the country. NCBI believes that families have a key role to play in supporting each other and that the best outcomes for our children can be achieved by sharing knowledge and information.

To register and use the forum - It’s simple ...

1. Log on to www.visionline.ie
2. Follow the link “click here to register for our forum”
3. You will receive a confirmation email containing your password, and NCBI may contact you to ensure that you are a legitimate user of the service.

The specific aims of visionline include:

  • To support children with vision impairments.
  • To support parents of children with vision impairments.
  • To improve communications and the sharing of information among NCBI service users and their families.
  • To overcome the geographic barriers often experienced by families of children with vision impairments.
  • To support the communication of practical advice on daily living for children with vision impairments.
  • To create an e-community where information relating to vision impairment and related services can be discussed.
  • To promote equity in accessing information.
  • To give people using NCBI services an opportunity to have an input into the development of new and existing NCBI services.
